The first draft of microfiber dress is a great color, and will still make a good layer. When I sew from scratch the first one is like the first pancake, you can still eat it, but the dogs dont mind a bit if its burnt a little. The second take will be all kinds of amazing. Thanks for sharing!

As the owner of two Melanzana dresses who wears literally nothing else all winter I am obsessed with your dress making exploration!

Yeah I thought of trying to get someone in CO to get me one of those but the fit isn’t exactly what I’m looking for- trying to invent my own thing but don’t quite know what that is yet? Ha. Also fleece is SO simple to work with it’s truly a joy. Also, u can buy merino wool online and I was like what if I made a merino one? But it’s $30/yard so I’m gonna wait until I work out the kinks!

My partner bought me the Mountain Hardware Summit Grid dress I'd been eyeing since last winter. But now I realize all my leggings (really long johns) are too worn and I have to replace those so I can look cute in the dress. :P BTW, I recommend this tutorial on how to sew a kangaroo pocket onto a fleece sweater: https://youtu.be/5X-ifbqH3Ak?si=EfRLGN0U9DKgK1Tg

The weight of the mountain hardwear one is kind of the weight I'm going for- hopefully this next fabric I ordered comes close!

I think Discovery fabrics, based in BC, have a decent selection of active fabrics and they do short videos on YT showcasing and comparing similar fabrics. Like polartec fleece styles. They also sometimes resell overstock fabrics from outdoor gear manufacturers. (Maybe they also do content on other social media, but I don't use social media anymore.) Don't know how this works for ordering from Alaska, I order from the EU and everything worked great so far. https://discoveryfabrics.com/

Discovery fabrics doesn't have what I'm looking for, and I understand the differences between diff polartec micro-grids, the one(s) I want are just not readily available. In general I'm never looking for advice with my posts :)
